In 2009, when “fashion law” was hardly a Googleable term, Brittany Rawlings, then a law school student, turned to her books and professors to help her create tailor-made legal documents and analyze business situations for her own namesake jewelry line, B.RAWLINGS.
Like most fashion entrepreneurs, Rawlings has been the proverbial “one-man-band-stand”. A ‘Gen Art’s Fresh Face in Fashion’ in 2010, Rawlings single-handily leveraged press coverage to land her fashion line in international Vogue publications, Allure Magazine, People Magazine, select Bloomingdale’s department stores and international boutiques. Rawlings has jeweled celebrities, sold at Henri Bendel trunk shows, and had her work showcased on runways.
Upon law school graduation in 2010, Rawlings created a Fashion Law Division at the law office she worked at and advocated that the fashion law was a legit niche practice, similar to music law and sports law.
Now with her own fashion law practice and admitted to the bars of Florida, New York and Washington, Rawlings has developed a niche practice for the fashion industry.
