Couple finds niche in beauty and wellness business

A couple that works hard together, enjoys what they do together, is very likely to succeed and be happy together for all time!

The popular family adage about a family staying together through a common activity, prayer, applies perfectly to couple Ronald and Prescy Yulo. The couple left their well-paying corporate jobs to start their own business Skin Rejuve – which they shepherded together to success.

Ronald worked as an engineer, while Prescy was a regional sales manager in a company in the health and wellness equipment industry.

After 12 years of painstaking work for other employers, they decided to put up Skin Rejuve (SR which stands for the initials of their two youngest kids) as a venue to showcase the machines they handle and sell.

“Prior to Skin Rejuve, Slimming, Laser and SPA facility, my wife and I have been in the health and wellness equipment industry. We gained our experience from our previous employers who are premier medical equipment distributors,” says Ronald D. Yulo, chief executive officer of Skin Rejuve.

It was in 2006 when Ronald decided to resign from his previous employer and put up the business.

“In 2007, my wife joined me in that newly set up company, and fortunately business grew rapidly,” Ronald narrates.

Skin Rejuve offers skin care that can revolutionarily alter the look of the ageing.

“We wish to maintain the look of every individual. One can look younger without using older technologies of surgery in favor of non-invasive techniques that give more natural results and with less recuperation time,” he says.

Coming from the wellness industry helped them a lot in their business.

After a short span of time since they ventured into aesthetic clinic, business grew well. Skin Rejuve now has four branches– in Quezon City, Ortigas, Malate, and Makati.

The fifth branch will soon be opened in Greenhills towards mid-June.

“We are looking at towards the end of the second quarter to have it fully operational,” says Ronald.

The couple plans to put up three additional clinics this 2013. The next one after Greenhills will be located at the Bonifacio Global City.

“In the next five years, we will be bringing a lot of changes in the industry like new technologies for skin rejuvenation and for slimming and wellness as a whole. This is the direction that we want. This is the reason why my wife and I continue to travel and attend foreign conventions, aesthetic exhibits, and trainings on beauty and wellness,” he said.

The Philippine economy is growing. But such growth at present neither guarantees sustainable future growth nor elimination of joblessness. Unemployment remains a challenge.

“With the opening of Skin Rejuve’s more branches, we could translate this strong growth to create more jobs, more opportunities for Filipino workers. And since we have high quality facility and services, I believe that we are also capable of passing the standards of medical tourism even among foreign customers,” said Yulo.

From Day One, Ronald and Prescy kept their corporate mission to help enhance customers’ beauty at a price that is within the reach of the common people.
