Wellington Equestrian Realty isn’t your run-of-the-mill realty office; the staff understands the horse farm industry and uses this personal knowledge to better serve their clients’ needs.
Started by twin brothers Rob and Chris Desino and colleague Matt Varney they bring their knowledge of the Wellington area, its horse farms and show industry to guide their clients, quickly making a name for themselves in the community.
“We don’t just sell horse farms, we are horse lovers too,” Varney said. “Chris and Rob have been riding and competing since they were young and my wife [Courtney Varney] competes in dressage and is a veterinarian.”
Rob and Chris first began selling horse farms in Ocala after retiring from the restaurant industry. Rob Desino said the transition from Ocala to Wellington was an easy one.
“We are seeing a lot of buyers who are interested in participating in the competitions that come in the winter,” he said. “For most of them, this is their first or second season coming to Wellington; we are able to educate them on the area and find a farm that meets their needs.”
“Wellington is the Worth Avenue of the western communities,” he said, adding that there currently are 28 listings, which can fluctuate depending on the time of year.
“We work with our clients to meet their needs and budget,” Rob Desino said. “We have listings from $200,000 to $30 million.”
And customer service is key.
“We put in the time to make sure that our clients are 100 percent satisfied with the process of finding a new farm and in the farm they choose,” he said.
Wellington Equestrian Realty has also invested in the Winter Equestrian Festival over the past two years through sponsorship and as founding sponsors of the Global Dressage Festival.
“We have seen the show expand over the years,” Varney said. “We’re proud to be part of that growth. The Winter Equestrian Festival is not only a showcase for accomplished competitors, but also a place for young and amateur riders. This is why we are proud to be week two sponsors.”
