NEW YORK, Jan. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Niche Media Holdings, LLC, the country’s preeminent publisher of regional lifestyle magazines announces the launch of AUSTIN WAY, a new magazine for Austin, Texas. The announcement was made today by Niche Media’s President COO, Katherine Nicholls. Austin Way’s inaugural issue will be unveiled in September 2014 and will be published six times a year with a circulation of 50,000 copies.
The expansion to Texas follows a four-year period of cumulative revenue and paging growth in excess of 20% for Niche Media and is the latest city-specific launch since the successful debut of Michigan Avenue in Chicago in 2008. Austin Way, the moniker which represents the unique, irreverent and independent spirit of Austin, will capture the essence of this progressive, burgeoning city. The magazine will follow Niche Media’s editorial model, which features captivating, rich content that celebrates the local community and connects to the affluent and socially active consumer. Distribution will carefully target this audience, which includes tastemakers, social influencers and thought-leaders through home delivery, and placement in the city’s cultural centers, leading hotels, retail shopping districts as well as at high profile events.
Niche Media looks forward to contributing to Austin’s economic boom by adding jobs, creating commerce and promoting the city’s culturally-rich profile, just as it did with the launch of Miami’s Ocean Drive in the early 90s. Lou DeLone has been named Publisher of Austin Way. DeLone joined Niche Media in July of 2013 as Group Publisher and has spent over 20 years in the publishing and advertising industry with the last nine years concentrated in Texas. Serving as the launch Publisher for Houstonia Magazine, DeLone held senior executive roles in the southwest region as Group Publisher for Houston Magazine, Modern Luxury Dallas and The Atlantan. DeLone serves on several charitable boards within Houston and Austin and is a resident of Austin, TX.
